It’s snowing outside. A lot. GAH. Can’t a girl catch a break? I don’t actually need to go anywhere, but I thougtht maybe I’d go to the coffeeshop and type instead of sitting at home. Oh well.
I started a little quilt this weekend. I’m not sure who it’s for or how big it will be (although I think it will only consist of the 9 rectangles I made already) but I am liking it. I keep looking at it wistfully because I want to work on it, but I have other things to do. It’s fun to play around with fabrics with no real goal in mind.

In other exciting news, I bought myself a ticket to NYC for mid april. I can’t wait to eat, shop and walk my way through the city again. I’ve really been missing it lately, and it’ll be fun to spend another birthday there. Plus I will get to see this.

Oh, and I added a bunch of earrings to my etsy shop. The photos are a little gray, I’m afraid, but trust me- they are vibrant and pretty in real life. Damn snow.

Yay, my luggage came home at 7:30 this morning, with all the contents safe and sound.
Once I get a chance to take some good photos, I’ll be adding three more cake hats to my etsy shop. These three are special because they flew to Edmonton (Canada) and back just to be with you. Fun. I put the finishing pom-poms on this morning.

I added a few new button necklaces last night, in case you’re interested. I sold one to my high school history teacher while at a Christmas Eve party– that was pretty cool. She also owns the first (and only) painting I ever sold.

That’s me, above, excited to sell my wares at the Holiday Bazaar. Possibly too excited, as barely anyone came by. Due to a mix of poor advertising and who else knows what, I barely sold a thing. I’m not going to lie- it was a let down. But that just means there’s more stuff in my etsy shop for fun people like you. Have a look if you like– I’ve updated all of the hats, some sewn journals, and a few button necklaces. More will trickle in if I start feeling a little better, but I think I caught that cold that’s been going around on the internets.
No silly, I know you can’t catch a cold from the internet. But I definitely have something, so I decided to try this Turkey Curry Meatball Soup. It was easy to make and also delicious– plus it helped clear up my sinuses a bit. I’d halve the recipie if I made it again since there are only two of us. I think it’d also be good with turkey or chicken chunks if you’re not a meatball fan. All of the ingredients were done to perfection just by following the recipie, so give it a shot if you’re feeling brothy.

This week has left me feeling tired, tired, tired. Working in the afternoons does this weird thing where I’m constantly thinking of how I have to go to work, and therefore don’t get a lot done. There has been lots of knitting torn out to be crocheted, and vice versa. But, I think some fun things have been created. I’m going to try to take them to the boutique next week once I’m done with some freelance work etc.

I also added some brooches to the shop. I really loved making these at one time in my life, and think I would like to start making them again. I just love wearing them on my coats and sweaters, and now I have an even better selection of fabric, buttons and yarns. I also put a few things on sale- the cake hats, scarf/muffler, etc. It’s getting colder!
Hope everyone is having a lovely friday, and happy weekend for that matter.
And Erin, your swap package was sent yesterday (so, fingers crossed, it might get there tomorrow according to the post lady).

For those of you wondering if there is still room in the patchwork swap, yes, there is but you MUST send me an email to be considered “on the list.” So, match your comments with an email, please. Sorry, but all the spots are filled!!
In other news, I updated my etsy shop today. There’s lots of stuff in there… I should probably stop crocheting now. Hah!

Today I really missed living in New York. I was in the middle of making baked mac and cheese and realized there was no milk. It used to be so easy to run across the street if I forgot an ingredient. Sigh. It’s weird to think that the whole city goes on without me, never skipping a beat.

I added several hats to my etsy shop today- some older ones are on sale, and then there are a whole bunch of new ones that I’ve been spending my time on. I’m especially fond of the birthday cake hats (above right)–they’re so fun to make because of all the bobbles and colors.
In other news, check out Diane Gilleand’s latest podcast on the topic of Craft Overload. She interviews several busy crafters (including myself) with some suggestions as to how to prevent craft overload in the first place. Personally, thinking about all of the projects I want to do plus the projects I want to pursue is making me a little dizzy right now. Head over and listen- Diane does a great job editing the shows and I am waiting for the day she’s on NPR.

I updated my etsy shop this morning with some earrings I made on the way back to Montana. (It’s much better than writing cover letters) .I have a couple more pairs to post once I figure out how to photograph black thread. If you purchase a pair, perhaps you’ll have good road trip karma, since they were made in: TX, NM, CO, or WY. Please have a look & spread the word if they appeal to you.
